The Friday Bachelor

Hi folks!

I'm on my own this Friday. It won't stop me being the blog hog that I am. Nope not a bit.

Anyhoo..... Vanessa has gone for the weekend, over to Yorke Penninsula with Anne, a friend from her work. Although invited I took the escape route of "two girls one guy, I'd just be bored, in the way, out of the conversation" and so on. Many Hollywood movies have been made on the same premise, usually romantic comedy sort of stuff. I'd enjoy a movie with a character like Anne. She works for a bank and is pretty high up there too. The thing that freaks me out is that, and this is not me being a funny bugger, but she uses astrology to make all of her financial decisions! And it works! For her anyway. Just a look at her stock portfolio will convince you of that. Anne will sit down once a week surrounded by astrology books, cosmological charts telling her the positions of the stars for years to come, some writing paper, a pencil, a ruler and a calculator then she'll go trough the finacial papers and work out what the best shares to buy are based on her day, time and place of birth, or those of her client - all depends on who's buying the stocks. From that you are probably imagining some one in a black lace dress with lots of purple highlights and odd rings on her fingers. Maybe somebody smelling faintly of incense sticks and brown bread? ERRRRKK! Wrong. She looks just like you and me. Very normal and level headed - well aside from the crazy moon in Uranus stuff.

I'm still holding onto the hope that some more Hamiltons will begin to add to this fine site. I told my dad about it lastweek, but I can see he hasn't posted a contribution. And a few weeks ago Ita encouraged Sean Hamilton to get in gear. No result from that either. Well they say the world is getting smaller. In less that 24 hours you can fly from Dublin to Sydney, but it appears that people are becomming more distant. And yes, I was a sinner in the Church of Contact for a long time too. But now I hope I've seen the error of my ways, wicked or otherwise, and cleaned up my act.

Who are "they" anyway? Some mysterious committee somewhere who pass out verdicts on the world whenever somebody need to add gravitas to a fatuous argument? Well I for one am very grateful for "their" input. Sheesh.... I can't count the number of times "they've" helped me win alcohol burning discussions. I wonder if we pay "them" through our taxes?

Finally this weeks Malc Recommends.

On the 3rd of November 2006 I recommend these two websites. First up is http://howtoprankatelemarketer.ytmnd.com/ it needs sound, so if you're at work where the boss is a bit sticky on such things then try it during quiet time. There's nothing rude but it is a little boisterous.

Next is the brilliant http://www.misterkitty.org/extras/stupidcovers/ a site dedicated to bringing us the dumbest comic books ever published.

So long for now.

Malcolm
