Bonza!
First off, big, huge, gi-normous thanks to young Ita for the contact and the invite. :)
Well you may have heard the news, but I'm guessing most of you are living under a digital rock..... hehe... Anyhow Vanessa and I are going to have a baby - all things going right - in March of 2007. Yey! Woohoo! And Bonza!
This is my first comtribution to the Hammo site (in more ways than one... yeah, yeah.. mad finnar yak!) so stick with me. For those of you who don't know who I am here comes a little history.
Name: Malcolm John Francis Hamilton. Origin: Frank and Pauline Hamilton. Place of.... ummm.... entry: Singapore.
These days I live in Adeliade, capital city of South Australia, with my fantasic wife (an Aussie) Vanessa Lobban. Sure she has yet to take on the great name of Hamilton, but not everyone is perfect. I've been over here for five years now. It's easy to remember as I emmigrated just two weeks after September 11th, 2001. Man the flight was a killer! Talk about security checks. But that's another story. So after five years I managed to become an Australian citizen, just last week actually. Well that's not totally precise. I passed my interview and had my application approved by the powers that be in Canberra last week. So now I have to take the Oath, cross my heart and hope to die, and only then am I a true Aussie. Strewth and crikey! Well that won't be too long. Regardless I'm a kangaroo luver for all intents and...etc.
In the past 1,825 days (give or take) I've endured four 42 degrees summers, a cyclone (hurricane) in Broome, Western Australia, 49,000 mossie bites, 4 jobs, bought 4 properties, 2 cars, killed 7 redback spiders, run from 2 snakes, resuced 1 lizzard, kept my irish accent, picked countless figs, signed an uncountable number of contracts, been to Sydney five times, Melbourne once, Broome once, learned nothing new about wine, drunk 1,125 litres of beer, taken 1,000 photos, failed to write a novel, any short stories or histories and returned to Ireland once. But mostly, I've had fun!
I also bought a green jumper. Just one. It's very nice. Apparently wearing it makes me look like a mint chocolate. So I'm yummy. And melt easily.
Well if any of you fine folks would like to check out some photos of me, Vanessa and others, along with some of my everyday photography head here http://www.adam.com.au/mjhamilton/Reduced/index.htm and have a laugh.
See ya all again soon.
Malcolm J
